ABOUT

Emily Haavik is a singer-songwriter from the shores of Lake Superior, now based in the Twin Cities. "There's soul in Haavik's voice" (Duluth News Tribune), and she writes "terrific songs with honest lyrics and infectious hooks" (The Bluegrass Situation). Emily plays a blend of Americana, folk and glitzy-glam country, often with her incredible band the 35s. Her music has been featured on Good Morning America and 20/20, and her work as a journalist has been honored by multiple national awards including the Peabody and DuPont. Her song "Do You Think You Protect Me?" was called “one of the year’s most powerful local songs on sexual violence awareness” by The Current. The video for it was nominated for the Midwest Country Music Video of the Year, received press coverage across Minnesota and raised over $5K for nonprofits combating violence against women. She releases her new album Wingspan in fall 2024.

Emily lives in Minneapolis with her husband Phil and her son Robert. In her spare time she is a journalist and audio producer.
